Metacities
Just reading in Scalzi’s blog about Metatropolis (and that is his code), and will be getting that soon.
Part of the enthusiasm about that is the curiosity about cities and the directions that scifi puts on them. I have read about those extremes such as floating cities, about cylinders connected though hyperportals, about location adn extreme architectures, but waht about the interactions on the cities?
The best I have read so far yet is Mieville’s The City, with its artificial duality cemented through cultural enforcers, its own thought police. A city is interaction, or lack of. What else would come next?
